Pan has been teaching English for almost 40 years since 1986. His publications include papers and monographs on Nathaniel Hawthorne, Sarah Orne Jewett, Willa Cather, Edith Wharton, Ellen Glasgow, William Faulkner, Winnifred Eaton, Edith Maude Eaton, Maxine Hong Kingston, and transnationalism.
