About the Journal
Translation and Society is a peer-reviewed academic journal co-sponsored by Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Socio-Translation Studies Committee of China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese (CACSEC). Committed to the advancement of socio-translation studies, the journal publishes original research in this field and its related disciplines, with particular focus on:
● The co-variance relationship and bidirectional dynamics between translation and society;
● Interdisciplinary engagement between translation studies and humanities, social sciences, and relevant natural sciences;
● Integration of translation studies with pedagogical practice, professional development, and industry applications in the field of translation.
Call for Papers
Translation and Society welcomes submissions from both domestic and international scholars. The journal features the following regular columns:
● Theories and methodologies in socio-translation studies
● Translators, actors, and the translation production process
● Literary and cultural translation in international communication
● Applied translation, translation technology, and translation in social services
● Translation pedagogy, professional practice, and translation ethics
● Other related topics
Translation and Society welcomes original research contributions adhering to the following guidelines:
1. Submissions must be original research articles. Papers based solely on translation practice or literary creation will not be considered.
2. All submissions must be previously unpublished, and must not be under consideration for publication by any other journals, books, or online platforms. Manuscripts should generally be 8,000 to 10,000 Chinese characters in length, with a maximum limit of 12,000 characters.
3. Submissions must include both Chinese and English titles, abstracts, and keywords. If the article is part of a funded research project, please provide the relevant details. Abstracts should be 150–300 words, and please include 3-5 keywords. Manuscripts should follow the formatting guidelines of this journal.
4. The peer-review process normally takes up to three months. If you do not receive a response within this period, you may consider submitting your work elsewhere. No publication fees are charged.
5. Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their submissions. Any forms of academic misconduct, including plagiarism or copyright infringement, is strictly prohibited.
