| Dr. Youru Zhou is an Assistant Professor at BFSU, specializing in Translation Studies. Her research explores critical topics such as quality assurance mechanisms in the Chinese translation market, the evolving role of translators, and translation pedagogy. Her work is informed by her practical experience as a translator and editor, and her doctoral research at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She is the author of the monograph “Assuring Translation Quality: Inside China’s Professional Translation Market” (2025). Dr. Zhou’s academic contributions and teaching excellence have been recognized with awards such as the Teaching Excellence Award from SEIS, BFSU, and a Full Graduate Student Scholarship from the Chinese Scholarship Council.
